If I could only wear one makeup colour, it would definitely be in the orange family... which is why I'm so pleased whenever it shows up on the red carpet!
Selena Gomez's eyeshadow is by far the most daring example I've got to show you, but Mandy Moore and Susan Sarandon also prove that it's amazingly face-brightening when worn on the lips.
Here are all the orange—and other makeup colours!—you need to see this week:
What I like: Selena's wash of orange eyeshadow. Has matchy-matchy ever looked so lovely?! The colour is echoed in the blush, while a thick fringe of lashes and feathery brows help define her eyes. I love that she did a pinkier tone on her lips, which picks up on the Ombré effect of her earrings. With so much colour happening, she wisely kept her hair off her face. What I'd change: Nothing.
What I like: Mandy's genuine smile is the best thing about this picture, to be honest. But I'm also loving this orange lipstick on her very healthy-looking skin. The blush looks seamless and she has amazing brow fans at the inner corners. I also like her hair; it's textured but not contrived. What I'd change: Nothing. (With her lipstick, earrings and dress, there are many colours going on here, but weirdly, it doesn't bother me.)
What I like: Susan's coral lipstick and blush. Such a great tone with her auburn hair and warm brown eye colour! I like her eye makeup too—the lashes and black liner on the top really open up her eyes, without looking harsh. I think the brow-filling is decent (for once, a red shade works here), and the soft waves through her hair are gorgeous. What I'd change: Nothing.
What I like: Felicity's bare-faced beauty. Even with the most minimal makeup—mascara, shimmery nude eyeshadow, a hint of blush—she looks so darn pretty. Her hair has a great ease to it, too; I always love the contrast of casual hair with a dressy dress. Such a good palette cleanse after scrolling through Instagram "makeup artists"! What I'd change: Just looks like she may need some lip balm!
What I like: Well, there's nothing NOT to like about Marie-Ange's look, right? This is Laetitia's little sister, who shares the same impossibly beautiful features. I don't know about you, but she has me wanting to wear a matte medium pink lipstick with matching blush. I adore the au naturel brows and eyes as well. What I'd change: Nothing.
What I like: Zoë's creamy red lipstick and flawless, natural skin. Often, I find that red lips with black liner comes on too strong, but that's not the case with these baby cat eyes and soft lashes. Her hair looks very shiny and healthy. What I'd change: As I've said before, I think Zoë's brow shape is too rounded (but maybe they can't grow back in at this point?). Also, I prefer lob-length hair on her, as she had here.
What I like: Jessica's radiant, dewy skin. If this isn't an advertisement for her facialist, Shani Darden, I don't know what is! When your complexion is this good, you don't need much—just lashes, a sheer gloss and strong brows. Remember when her brows looked like this? They've come a long way! I'm also feeling the long, half-up hair and big hoop earrings. What I'd change: I think she could do better than this pair of false lashes.
What I like: Jenna's colouring is just so striking. It's not any single feature that I'm drawn to, but more the overall contrast between her green eyes, glowy skin and red lipstick. This is definitely her Life Cut! What I'd change: I think the skin finish is a little heavy, particularly in the mid-face, and I prefer her brows less drawn-on, like they were here.
What I like: Priyanka's hair is so long, thick and glam! If these are extensions, for once I think they look good. I also like the rich, berry makeup tones, and the light touch on the lashes. What I'd change: Is her upper lip getting bigger? Like I said here, there is just no way that is natural.
What I like: I so appreciate how Jordana looks polished but never overdone. I love the bouncy blowout, parted on one side and casually cascading over her shoulder. She has excellent brows, and the smudgy brown liner really flatters her brown eyes. Notice how the touch of shimmer at her inner corners and on her mouth really brings this to life. What I'd change: Nothing.
What I like: This might be the first time I'm having positive feelings for Scarlett's short hair... maybe because those shaved sides have grown out. She looks very chic with more dramatic eyes than she normally wears. Leaving the brows and lips soft keeps things fresh. What I'd change: The blush is maybe a bit heavy-handed, but not bad.
