Shu Uemura x Super Mario Bros. Collection
You don't have to be a fan of '90s Nintendo games to appreciate the Shu Uemura x Super Mario Bros. holiday collab! While the collection includes skincare, haircare and makeup, it's the lip stuff that impressed me the most.
The Tint in Balm is my favourite, a sheer but pigmented, glossy balm in a clickable pen format, which I've never seen before. Underground Adventure is a very wearable vampy berry, and it also comes in an orangey-red.
I've always felt that Shu Uemura lip colours were underrated, and I think you'll agree!
Bite Beauty Mauvember Limited Edition Collection
I think this year's shades are a hint more berry and less purple than previous years, as I found the shades more flattering on me. I love the Multisticks (originally reviewed here), so my pick is the Multistick in Mauvember. It looks amazing as both a lipstick and a blush. You could even wear it on your eyelids!

Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette
By now, you've probably got your fair share of neutral-toned eyeshadow palettes... but the question is, do you have a glimmery neutral-toned eyeshadow palette?
I was prepared to give the Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette a pass, thinking it was too similar to what I already had in my collection. But then I tried it, and I could not deny that it's actually really, REALLY useful!
I personally prefer these shimmery/glittery finishes to mattes, especially as we approach the holiday season. But in neutral shades, they're still within most people's comfort zones.
There are three each of Base shades, Contour shades, Define shades and Topcoat shades, but of course, you can mix and match however you like.

Philips Sonicare 9300 DiamondClean Smart Sonic Electric Toothbrush
I am a diehard Sonicare fan, and will never use any other toothbrush—nothing gets your teeth as clean! So I'm excited to be upgrading to their latest release, the Philips Sonicare 9300 DiamondClean Smart Sonic Electric Toothbrush.
They're calling it "the world's most intelligent toothbrush" because it has a microchip built into the brush head, which tracks and gives real-time feedback on your brushing habits via an app. So it will tell you if you're pressing too hard, missed a spot, and so on.
It comes with three new-and-improved brush heads, a charging glass (which is much easier to clean than a stand) and a travel case. It's available in four shades: grey, black, white and pink.
C'mon, make the switch to sonic; you won't regret it!
Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara
This formula is an all-rounder that is meant to give you volume, length and separation. I would say it does the latter two things better than volumize. (If you want that, definitely, definitely get the Lancôme. It's incredible.)
But if you prefer clean, natural-looking, "daytime" lashes, then this product does deliver. It's also very good on the non-smudging front!
Hot Tools CurlBar
Finally, there's an EASY way to get that covetable "bend" in your hair that you always see on celebs.
Their hairstylists do it by wrapping the hair around a wand, leaving the ends out. But I've found most irons are tricky/scary to work with, unless someone else is doing it... I've burnt my neck several times!
Enter the Hot Tools CurlBar. The 90-degree angle makes all the difference! It does come with a glove, but I find I don't even need that, it's so simple to use. I also appreciate being able to control the temperature, as I feel more confident that this is not going to happen.
I didn't think I needed any more hot tools in my life, but I can see myself using this a lot, to quickly add a bit of imperfect texture.
Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Color
If you love your matte lips in neutral tones, the Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Colors are for you.
The waterproof formula is very "set it and forget it," and does not move around or transfer once it's on. Apparently they last for nine hours, but aren't drying like so many long-wear lip colours.
What I most appreciate about these is that you can use them not just as lipstick but also lip liners, to overdraw your lips.
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Glow Drops
Because it's more of a "catch the light" effect (rather than disco glitter), you could mix a few drops into your moisturizer or foundation for an all-over glow.
My preferred way to use them is as a strobing product, for a subtle sheen on the high planes of the face.
Maybelline The City Mini Palette
So I'm not sure if Canada is getting the Maybelline x Gigi Hadid Jetsetter Palette (which sold out within hours, but is now back here). However, the brand does have another one that deserves some love...
The City Mini Palette, specifically in the shade Downtown Sunrise, is the perfect way to try the pink eyeshadow trend without breaking the budget. That pinky-coral shade is so unique and would be amazing for holiday parties!
Phyto Phytodensia Plumping Serum
In case you didn't know, Phyto makes some of the best and most unique hair products around—they've long been one of my favourites!
The Phytodensia Plumping Serum is a hair serum for "aging" hair (eye roll), but there's no reason anyone with volume challenges couldn't use it.
It's a leave-in treatment that you massage onto your dry or damp scalp (and don't worry, it's not oily at all), running the rest through the ends. The peptides in it stimulate healthy regrowth, and it doubles as a volumizer to give body. Win win!
Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum
Translation? A heart note of iris, with a sparkly mandarin opening and a patchouli base.
Iris never works on my skin, but I wish I could wear it for that faint soapiness it gives. This is described as a floral musk, and as you'd expect from the brand, totally classy and elegant.
Clairol Color Crave
They're a few years behind the offbeat hair colour trend, but better late than never, I guess! Clairol has come out with two lines for those who want to play with pastels and bold hues.
The least commitment is Color Crave Hair Makeup, which comes out in one wash. All you need to do is squeeze it onto the sponge applicator and dab it onto your hair. Then, lock it in with a blowdryer. There are seven shades, and they work on all hair colours.
The next step up is Color Crave Semi-Permanent Color, which lasts about 15 washes, depending on your hair colour (the lighter, the longer it sticks around). There's no mixing; you simply apply it with the brush provided and wait 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing it out. There are 11 shades—I think the prettiest is Rose Gold!
Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls
On the skin, it's surprisingly pretty—not too shimmery!—and would be ideal for strobing.
Cake The Hair Raiser
Have you ever tried Kevin Murphy Powder.Puff? Nobody talks about it anymore, but it's a really good product—I think it was the first volumizing hair powder on the market.
Now, imagine crossing that with the best dry shampoo, so that you'd have both volume-building and oil-absorbing properties in one single product. That's what you get with Cake The Hair Raiser!
I love that it has a precision applicator, so you can be really targeted about where it goes, whether at the roots for lifting or through the lengths to build texture.
Bonus: the ingredients are SO much healthier than mainstream styling products!

Sally Hansen x Crayola Insta-Dri Nail Polish
First, it was lip crayons. Now, there's another way to reminisce about your kindergarten years, with the Sally Hansen x Crayola Insta-Dri Nail Polish Collection.
There are 12 shades, ranging from the classic (red and pink) to the daring (green or orange nails, anyone?). As usual, ManiGeek has the best swatches!
The formula requires no base coat or top coat, and dries in less than 60 seconds.
Skoother Skin Smoother
If you use a foot file like the Micro-Pedi, you know that buying replacement rollers can get REAL expensive. And they seem to get dull so fast!
The Skoother Skin Smoother is a great alternative. It fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, and is fitted with a "smoothing screen" that safely buffs away dead skin. All the dust handily collects inside, so there's less mess.
It comes with three Coarse screens and one Fine screen, and replacements can be purchased here.
I wouldn't say this could tackle severe calluses, but it is absolutely comparable to the much more pricey battery-operated versions!
That's a wrap up for this edition of beauty product news!
What's made it into my permanent routine, of all the stuff I've shown you here?
Definitely the Tint in Balm, Multistick, Toothbrush, CurlBar and Hair Raiser. And while I don't usually do much with my eyeshadow, I know the two palettes are going to get lots of use over the festive season!
