We may be in the midst of awards season, but those aren't the only red carpets seeing some great beauty action right now.

In fact, I'd argue that the hair and makeup I'm about to show you is even MORE inspiring than what we've seen at the Globes, Critics' Choice, SAGs or Grammys... even though a lot more prep surely went into those looks!

If you're like me and prefer a more casual approach, with natural skin and creative colour, then keep scrolling. I've gathered the best in celebrity beauty lately:

Jamie Chung

What I like: Jamie's fresh skin and raspberry lip colour. The latter appears to be a tinted balm, as it has the perfect texture—sheer and semi-glossy. Black liner and a neat updo bring it all together. I can't think of a better beauty look to go with this (amazing) dress! What I'd change: Nothing.

Zoë Saldana

What I like: Zoë's radiant skin and barely-there makeup. When you're wearing diamonds and a plunging gown, the instinct is to go bold on your face—but I'm SO GLAD she didn't! Isn't it so much more beautiful this way? The key is that everything is still very groomed, including her soft waves. What I'd change: Nothing.

Gal Gadot

What I like: Gal's matte coral lipstick. Literally obsessed! I'm trying to track down the shade; it might be something from Revlon, since she's now an ambassador. (Side note: It's SO similar to Haze, which is discontinued. What is Tarte thinking getting rid of LipSurgence?!) Anyway, back to Gal. Everything about this is gorgeous, from her subtly smoky eyes to her flawless skin and brows. What I'd change: Nothing.

Emily Ratajkowski

What I like: Emily's bold red eyeshadow, of course. I knew right away this was a Hung Vanngo look! It's all about the singular colour statement, keeping the skin, lashes and brows natural. Even her lips are looking less injected than usual here. What I'd change: Nothing.

Emily is wearing: Eyeliner in Fine(wine) 47Eyeshadow palette in Scandalust (They Call Her, Scandalous and That's Why shades)

Margot Robbie

What I like: Margot's chic, straight lob. Why haven't we been seeing it like THIS all awards season? I feel like her beauty looks have been better on her press tour! (Here's another example. Am I right?) I also love the stained lips, and long but soft lashes. What I'd change: Nothing.

Ella Purnell

What I like: Ella's half-up waves, tied with a ribbon, and skinny black liner in her waterlines. Officially my new beauty crush! Besides her fresh skin finish, I love how her eyelids are shaded with brown shadow—we can't even see lashes. This is SO aspirational to me! What I'd change: Nothing.

Keira Knightley

What I like: Keira's über-bright red lipstick. Besides matching the backdrop, it's the ideal accessory for a tuxedo and masculine-inspired updo. Her skin looks dewy (and isn't Botoxed!), while strong brows and defined lower lashes frame her eyes. What I'd change: Nothing.

Sofia Boutella

What I like: Sofia's cute bob and baby bangs. Her great brows allow her to wear such a short fringe, and even though it doesn't look "natural," she pulls off the blonde well! Notice how her roots are darker, but blended—there's no harsh line. What I'd change: Nothing.

Zoë Kravitz

What I like: Zoë's copper eyeshadow, lower lid liner and thick bottom lashes. (It seems like bottom lashes are really having a moment!) If you look closely, the shadow has a graphic edge, but it's not in-your-face because of the tone-on-tone colour. Of course, I always love her freckles, full brows, and all-around glow. What I'd change: Nothing.

Hailee Steinfeld

What I like: Hailee's orangey-red lipstick and '70s-inspired waves. Her skin is fantastic these days, and I'm happy to see a soft texture to her lashes. The gold eyeshadow pairs beautifully with the bold lip, and is more modern than a dark colour. What I'd change: Nothing, but if you think her features have changed over the years, you're right. I JUST did her Before & After!

Emma Stone

What I like: Emma's berry lipstick and matching sheer eyeshadow. I definitely prefer this to the overly cool-toned magenta lipstick wore at the Golden Globes! Her skin looks glorious. What I'd change: I wouldn't have put so much shadow under the eyes (this isn't a good colour for that) and I'd define her lashes/lash lines more. Also: can we please bring back the blues, greens and purples? Those were the best on Emma—like this.

Salma Hayek

What I like: Salma's eyeshadow. It's a rusty purplish tone (not quite sure how to describe it!) that is so unique and flattering. Again, we're seeing graphic edges to the application, with lots of black liner along the top lash lines and bottom outer third. I'm glad she didn't do nude, and chose a pink lipstick and blush. What I'd change: Her face doesn't match her neck and chest, which are paler and more yellow. The edges of her lipstick could be softened.

Karlie Kloss

What I like: Karlie's luminous skin. She looks so flawless, this could be an ad instead of a candid red carpet shot! (That's why they pay her the big bucks.) I'm so happy to see her moving away from the light platinum hair. Mid-length honey blonde and orange-toned lipsticks have always been my favourite for her. What I'd change: Nothing.

Jordana Brewster

What I like: Jordana's simple ponytail with glowing skin, baby-pink gloss and jet-black liner. It's a lot of liner, yes, but it works because her hair is back, her lashes are soft, and her lids are clean (with just a sheer wash of pink to match her lips). It's always nice to see a normal, non-inflated upper lip! What I'd change: Nothing.

Emilia Clarke

What I like: Emilia's peach lipstick (even though it's flaking a bit). She paired it with a strong, straight cat eye, nude blush and her signature full brows. Simple but gorgeous. What I'd change: Without the bright lipstick she wore at the Globes, this hair colour washes her out and makes her skin look too yellow (although it does look better here).

Olivia Culpo

What I like: Olivia's tight, low bun and crazy-long lashes. (They've got to be extensions on the top AND bottom, but I will always prefer those to stiff falsies.) I like the texture through her brows, and I'm very into the rose lipstick trend right now. If you're curious about her skin, check out her routine! What I'd change: I wouldn't do this much contour.

Priyanka Chopra

What I like: Priyanka's magenta lipstick with purple eyeshadow. Not a combo you see every day! It's fun, though, and definitely works with her skin tone. The brows, lashes and black liner are important to "ground" the colour and make her eyes pop. What I'd change: The false lashes are too obvious (too long) and her brows are so angular. I don't mind the extreme texture through her hair, but it's a little '80s with this makeup.

Ana de Armas

What I like: Ana's neon pink lipstick, with pink eyeshadow that turns into blush. The technique is called "draping," and it was popularized by Rihanna at the Met Gala. I think that makes the neon lip more current, along with the natural lashes. What I'd change: So she went dark brunette, but it seems TOO dark. I prefer this brown.

Ana is wearing: Lipstick in Get Up Stand Up

Diane Kruger

What I like: Diane's soft, straight bob. This is how I love her hair—it's longer and more polished than the short, edgy, wavy styles she's been favouring lately, like at Critics' Choice. The makeup is signature Diane (and she probably did it herself): taupe shadow up to the brows, natural lashes and understated pinky-nude lips. What I'd change: Nothing.

Alexandra Daddario

What I like: Alexandra's vampy blackened lipstick. With her glossy dark hair and piercing light eyes, it's very striking! What I'd change: I really don't like how her brow tails are over-drawn above the hair (and in the wrong shade).

Alexandra is wearing: Lipstick

Olivia Wilde

What I like: Olivia's shimmery eyes. We haven't seen her in forever (not since 2016) and I've missed the Queen of Smoky Eyeshadow! I know she has talked about over-plucking her brows as a teen, but she did a great job of filling them in here. What I'd change: I'm not a fan of the blonde, nor even the bob. This is the length (and colour) that would be more flattering on her. I think her foundation is a fraction too yellow.

Olivia is wearing: Face oilFace mistEyeshadow in Bronze Tension • Eyeshadow in Tuxedo • Eyeshadow in Terre Brulée

Mandy Moore

What I like: Mandy's cute half-up bun. This is such a great "weekend look," with glowy clear skin and a slick of lip gloss. She's a natural beauty! What I'd change: I don't love the stiff top lashes.

Emma Watson

What I like: Emma's freckles, defined lashes and brushed-up brows. Pretty much the same features I always love on her! The tawny lipstick is a nice alternative to nude. What I'd change: It's better than her Globes updo, but I still don't know what's going on with her hair. Those baby bangs were probably a bad idea, when you know she is capable of styles like this.

Katie Holmes

What I like: Katie's short bob. It's 2008 all over again! (And I mean that in the best possible way.) I also like the berry lipstick, and how it's not an exact match with her red dress. If you look closely, she's also wearing berry eyeliner under her eyes. What I'd change: The false lashes are just so unnecessary. If you're going to do something cool, like colourful eyeliner, you don't need to cheapen it with that extra step!
