BAFTAs 2018 beauty

This year's BAFTAs—the British equivalent of the Oscars—welcomed celebs from both sides of the pond, and I've got all the beauty looks to show you!

Just like at the Globes, most of the attendees wore black to show solidarity with the Time's Up movement, leaving the colour statements for their makeup.

From red lips to rose blush to blue eyeshadow, here's the glam you need to see. I've also included product details wherever available!

 Jennifer Lawrence

What I like: Jennifer's red lips, rosy cheeks and oh-so-luminous skin! The texture through her brows is fantastic, and I appreciate the light touch on the eyes (all I can detect is mascara and tightlining on the upper lashes only, with a sweep of taupe shadow for definition). What I'd change: Nothing. (Her hair's a little flat, but makes sense for her dress.)

Angelina Jolie

What I like: Angelina's skin—yes, there's way too much under-eye concealer, but has the overall texture ever been this glowy?! I also like her smoky cat eyes. On most people, I know I'd say these false lashes were too heavy and theatrical, but she's got the model features and almond shape to pull them off. With sheer pink gloss and a clean updo, she looks fresher and more modern than she has in a long time! What I'd change: The area under her eyes is just way too light. (Side note: what's up with the lumpy lips? I'll have to revisit her Before & After!)

Salma Hayek

What I like: Salma's gorgeous rose lipstick and blush. I know she wears this shade a lot, but it's just SO good with her skin tone—the lipstick was named for her, after all! Her lashes fan out in an amazing way, complemented by well-blended brown shadow and natural brows. A loose mane of curls adds to the romantic vibe. What I'd change: I might blend in the lower lip liner a tad more.

Lupita Nyong'o

What I like: Lupita's two-toned cat eyes and sheer red lipstick. Her signature colour-blocking is back! She's got black for her flicks, but the bright blue at her inner corners breathes new life into this classic technique. I love that she didn't leave it there, but went and added an unexpected bold lip as well. Skin is flawless, per usual. What I'd change: Nothing.

Lupita is wearing: Eyeliner in Noir Intense • Eyeshadow in Bleu Chrome • Lip crayon in Oui, Monsieur

Rachel Weisz

What I like: Rachel's pink eyeshadow, blush and rosy tinted balm. All so pretty with her high-contrast colouring! Note how these pale, cool tones are grounded by her full, dark brows, defined lashes, and baby cat eyes. The hair is relaxed and casual. What I'd change: Her skin is a little too powdery (the flash might be making it worse as well).

Margot Robbie

What I like: Margot's centre-parted blunt cut with the perfect amount of "bend." Lob goals for sure! Her makeup is super-soft this time, featuring a pinky-nude lip, natural lashes and pink eyeshadow. Notice how her brows are overdrawn to fake more fullness. What I'd change: Nothing... but I'll say it again: I've found her awards show looks very safe/boring compared her 'I, Tonya' tour.

Margot is wearing: Face mask • Foundation in 4.0 • Concealer in 3.0 • Blush in Natural Flush • Eyeshadow in Scintillance • Eyeshadow in Hanaakari • Mascara in Black • Lipstick in Intime

Naomie Harris

What I like: Naomie's dreadlocks in a dramatic high bun. I'm always a fan of embracing your natural texture, so I'm really happy to see this instead of the straightened hair she's always worn on the red carpet. Her makeup is subtle, classic and pretty, with brown smokies, natural lashes and textured brows. What I'd change: Nothing.

Kate Middleton

What I like: Kate's glossy curls, long lashes and radiant skin—must be those pregnancy hormones in high gear! I also really like her shimmery charcoal eyeshadow, worn from the crease down. Of course, her styling is never trendy or edgy, but we don't expect that! What I'd change: I'd just dial down the blush.

Emma Roberts

What I like: Emma's bad bangs weren't real, thank goodness! I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief at this simple, fringe-free updo. Her skin is super-dewy, and I always love her feathery brows and long lashes. Pulling the shadow out at the edges creates a cool, feline effect. What I'd change: Nothing.

Emma is wearing: Blush in Sorbet Corail • Eyeshadow in Khaki Chic • Lipstick in Beige Mirage

Gemma Arterton

What I like: Gemma's matte orange-red lips, and sheer skin finish showing off her freckles. There was so much attention to detail here—from the shading on the brows and eyelids, to the fluttery soft lashes and luminizer at the corner of her eyes (which brings it all to life). I also love the boyish, off-the-face bob. What I'd change: Nothing.

Gemma is wearing: Eye mask • MoisturizerFoundation in 20 Beige • Concealer in 215 N Buff (under eyes) • Concealer in SC-2 (rest of face) • Highlighter in PearlContour in LightBlush in FlushPowder • Eye primerEyeshadow in Nude DipMascara in Black • Individual lashesBrow powder in 01 • Brow mascara in BrownLipstick in Isabella (outer edges of lips) • Lipstick in Idôle (centre of lips) • Lip liner in Cherry

Saoirse Ronan

What I like: Saoirse's purple eyeshadow and pink lipstick. This colour combo could easily be too "sweet," especially on a blonde, but her dress and earrings add edge and contrast. As we've seen lately, she took it easy on the mascara. It's there, but off the roots for a softer effect. What I'd change: I'm not crazy about the wispy hairstyle... I think it should've been thick, sleek and blunt.

Saoirse is wearing: Foundation (as concealer) • Highlighter in Quartz • Blush in Puff (as blush and lip colour) • Powder • Eyeshadow in Tissé DimensionsEyeliner in ErosMascara • Brow mascara in Clear and Brown •

Isabelle Huppert

What I like: Isabelle's classic old Hollywood waves, red lipstick, liner and lashes. It's just enough glam, but not too much! Her skin finish is matte, but doesn't look dry, cakey or powdery. What I'd change: I'd brush out her waves and that one brow into place! And yes, there is lipstick on her teeth.

Kate Mara

What I like: Kate's defined, slightly chunky lashes with two-toned eyeliner. Right in the waterlines is black, and then it's framed by a lovely smudged-out purple. The peach lips and cheeks match her hair (which I'm loving long again). What I'd change: Her skin finish is a bit heavy/powdery in the mid-face, but not bad.

Lily James

What I like: Lily's copper smoky eyes—so mesmerizing! They're way more interesting than a traditional matte brown, especially with the pinker lip. I'm glad she kept her lashes natural, which keeps it light and modern. She has a beautiful set of brows. What I'd change: Her hair looks great, but truth be told, I think she was less generic as a brunette.

Natalie Dormer

What I like: Natalie's green smoky eyes. Now this is something you don't see on every red carpet! The blending is just superb, and since there's a great depth of colour at the outer edges, her eyes really pop. Wisely, she kept everything else bare and peachy. What I'd change: With such dramatic eyes and earrings, I would've liked to see her hair up.

Anya Taylor-Joy

What I like: Anya's super-glowy skin with strong cat eyes, ruby lips and big brows. That's a lot of stuff happening, and she could easily take away one thing—but she's so gorgeous, it basically still works. What I'd change: I prefer a straighter cat eye, not so curly (it's more elegant). How do we feel about crowns as accessories? I'm not sure, especially when ACTUAL royalty is in attendance!
